Home Organisation & Decluttering Support
Gentle support for sorting and organising the spaces that have built up over years — working alongside you, at your pace, with every decision staying firmly yours.
What this offers you
When daily things have a clear, reachable place, the background tension of a cluttered or disorganised home tends to ease quietly and noticeably.
We help settle on storage that fits how you actually put things away — not how you might in an ideal week, but how you do it on an ordinary day.
Nothing is moved or removed without your agreement. We're here to make the process less overwhelming — not to decide anything on your behalf.
Where you might be right now
Most of us accumulate more than we mean to. A spare room that gradually became a storage room. Kitchen cupboards full of things that once had a clear purpose. Wardrobes holding clothes from different chapters of life. None of it is a failing — it's simply what happens when you stay in one place long enough.
When there's a lot to sort, the sheer scale of it can make it hard to start at all. The question of what to keep, what to let go of, and what to do with things you can't bring yourself to decide on can feel genuinely paralysing.
For many people, sorting a home means encountering things that belonged to others — a partner, a parent, a child who has grown and moved on. We understand that sorting can carry emotional weight, and we approach it accordingly.
There's sometimes a reluctance to ask for help with something that feels personal. But having someone calm and practical alongside you isn't a weakness — it's often just the thing that makes the difference between starting and not starting.
Whether you're thinking about a move, making space for someone to come and help at home, or simply wanting to live more comfortably day to day — a lighter, better-organised home tends to make the next step feel more possible.
Our approach
We don't arrive with a system to impose. We listen to what feels most pressing, agree on where to start, and work through it together — pausing whenever you need to, and never rushing a decision.
Rather than working through a room from corner to corner, we begin by asking which spaces bother you most, which areas you'd most like to reclaim, and what would make the biggest difference to your daily life. That sets the direction.
We work through things together, holding them up one by one and letting you tell us what they are to you. Keep, let go, not sure yet — all of these are valid, and none of them need to be hurried. Things you're uncertain about can be set aside and returned to.
Once you know what's staying, we look at where it lives. The goal is storage that fits how you actually use your home — things within easy reach, grouped in a way that makes sense to you, and organised so that it stays that way without effort.
We don't just leave things looking tidy on the day — we make sure the system we've put in place is one you can keep up easily. The aim is a home that stays calmer, not one that needs constant attention.
What it feels like
Many people tell us they were nervous before the first session — and surprised by how straightforward it felt once we got started. Having someone calm beside you changes things.
Each session runs to around three or four hours. We arrange them around your energy and your schedule — mornings if that's when you're freshest, or whatever time feels right. There's no fixed number of sessions; you decide how many you'd like.
We never move, remove, or reorganise anything without you being present and agreeing to it. Every decision belongs to you — our role is simply to make each decision feel a little lighter to make.
If something brings up a memory or a feeling, we don't push past it. There's time to pause, to look at something properly, and to make your mind up slowly if that's what's needed. We're not working to a timetable.
Some people want to start with a wardrobe. Others with a kitchen. Others with a spare room that's been waiting for years. We follow your lead — and if you want to stop at one room and see how you feel, that's completely fine.

Our approach in practice
Our approach draws on years of experience supporting people in Japan through the practical and emotional process of sorting a home that has been lived in for a long time. We have found that the combination of a steady pace, genuine respect for what things mean, and practical guidance on storage tends to produce results that last — not just for a day or a week.
3–4 hrs
The length of each session — enough time to make real progress in one area without tiring or rushing.
Flexible
Sessions are arranged around your schedule and energy. You choose how many you'd like, and when each one takes place.
8+ yrs
Specialist experience supporting people in Japan with home organisation as part of later-life planning.
In a single three-to-four-hour session, most people are able to clear and reorganise one meaningful area — a wardrobe, a kitchen cupboard run, or a spare room in reasonable condition. Some areas take longer; some are done more quickly. We're honest about this upfront.
We don't aim for a before-and-after transformation. We aim for a home that is genuinely easier to live in — and that stays that way without constant upkeep.
Our commitment
We understand that asking for help with your home can feel like a big step. We work to make it feel small — starting gently, listening carefully, and following your lead at every stage.
We never suggest you should let something go unless you raise it first. Keeping things, even things that seem unnecessary to an outsider, is entirely your right — and we respect that without question.
Before committing to a session, you're welcome to contact us with questions — about the process, whether it seems right for your situation, or anything else. There's no charge for that conversation.
If a session becomes too much, we stop. No session is a commitment to another. The whole arrangement is designed to feel low-stakes at every stage.
If it would help to have an adult family member present, that's absolutely fine. Some families use sessions to work through shared belongings together — we're comfortable supporting that.
Getting started
You don't need to know how many sessions you want, or even which room to start with. A few words about what's on your mind is enough.
Use the contact form on our home page or email us directly. Tell us a little about what you have in mind — or simply say you'd like to talk it through first.
We'll get back to you to ask a few brief questions and find a session time that works around your schedule and your energy levels.
On the day, nothing needs to be prepared. We arrive, we talk briefly about where to begin, and then we start — at whatever pace you're comfortable with.
If there's an area of your home that's been weighing on you, we'd be glad to help — gently, at your pace, and entirely on your terms.
